out the window

One of my college freshman years pieces that took me forever to finish.

I have always been fascinated by the craft of paper, so when this opportunity came up I jumped on it.
Some of the background dark blue paper was store bought, very nicely made handmade texture paper. It was something I would always stop to admire at the Plaza art store whenever I passed by. So itching to get my hand on it for the perfect opportunity, this was it.
The other papers are also water-colored with special salt effects, but the most important one out of them all is perhaps the branches, that were made from toilet paper rolls.

Trying to make the cut out designs from the tree and tree branches was a tedious and laborious process with many many exact-o knife cuts (tear) but was well worth the result. This is one of my favorite pieces!
